SOLID AND SEMI-SOLID BUFFER CONCENTRATES FOR ELECTROPHORESIS

Semi-solid and solid forms of buffer concentrates for electrophoresis are described. Solutions of the electrophoresis buffers are concentrated to a point sufficient to form a gel. The gels can be microwaved or otherwise heated by a suitable heat source to liquify them. Thereafter, water is added to dilute the liquefied gels to an appropriate working concentration. The resulting solutions are pure, homogenous, stable, high buffering capacity solutions.
