The invention relates to compositions and methods of managing the manifestations of the symptoms of persistent reproductive transition (or SPRT). A typical composition contemplated by the invention comprises (i) a first active ingredient comprising at least one phytoestrogen, a source of at least one phytoestrogen, or combinations thereof and (ii) a second active ingredient comprising (a) a mixture of remedial carbohydrates including at least one simple remedial carbohydrate, at least one complex remedial carbohydrate and at least a starch, (b) choline, a source of choline, or combinations thereof, or (c) a combination of (a) and (b). If the second active ingredient of the composition comprises phosphatidyl choline, then the composition contemplated is substantially free of added beta-sitosterol.
