PURPOSE:To improve the positioning accuracy between a picture element electrode and a color filter and the effective numerical aperture of the title display device and, at the same time, to eliminate the color slipping and to improve the yield of the device by constituting the color filter for color display and a black matrix to one body on an active element array substrate. CONSTITUTION:For example, picture element electrodes 5, color filters 10-12, and black matrixes 13 are formed on the same active element array substrate 8 by using the same positioning register mark as a reference. In addition, the black matrixes 13 are constituted so that they can be provided on TFTs 4, etc. As a result, the positioning accuracy between the picture element electrodes 5 and color filters 10-12 and the effective numerical aperture can be improved. Moreover, no color slipping is produced in such a display device, and the yield of the device can be improved. |
