Removal of crude oil (products)

Quantitative removal of asphaltenes from crude oil (products) comprises placing the crude oil (products) in a precipitation vessel and intensively stirring and mixing with a precipitating agent for asphaltenes until the asphaltenes precipitative out. The asphaltenes are kept behind or in the vessel and the precipitating agent is fed the vessel over the asphaltenes and separated from the maltenes also added. Also claimed is an apparatus for carrying out the process. Preferably the precipitating agent is fed to the distillation agent before recycling, in which the precipitating agent is purified and separated from the maltenes remaining in the distillation residue. The precipitated asphaltenes are dried at the removal stage, optionally washed and/or extracted and dried again and then weighed. The precipitating agent is n-pentane, n-heptane, isopentane or isoheptane.
