A cover for the joined ends of electrical cables (1,6) consists of a rigid support (20) which is connected to the ends of the cables, a seal (12) e.g. of butyl mastic, and a supple cover (24) which goes over the joint. The rigid support can be of a thermoplastic material and has a resistance to flexion which is more or less equal to that of the joined cables, and the supple cover incorporates a layer of earthed metallised fabric. The edges of the cover can be joined together by press studs or strips of 'Velcro' (RTM), and the joined ends of the cable can be covered by PVC caps. |
