Recovery of Gp. IIB and IVB metals (esp. Zn, Pb, Cd) and metal cpds. by rotary furnace method of volatilising ores with simultaneous recovery of Gp. VIII and Gp. Ia metals (esp. Fe and Cu) from roll salg, and in which metal-contg. material is heated together with solid C-contg. material while supplying O2-contg. gases to rotary furnace, is effected by process where feed charge compsn. is adjusted so that a 0.25-0.45 (0.32-0.4) CaO:SiO2 ratio is maintained in roll slag obtd. Concentrate obtd. from slag is useful scrap substitute for Cu cementation, and may also be charged, e.g. after briquetting, to a Pb blast furnace. Pref. max. working temp. in rotary furnace is 1200-1450 (1300-1400) degrees C. Roll slag for recovery of Gp. VII and Gp. IA metals and/or metal cpds. is worked up hydromagnetically, pref. at 300-900 (400-700) Gauss field intensity.
|
