Use of polymers obtained by reacting polymers (a) made from maleic acid anhydride and olefins of formula: R1R2C = CH2, with 2-18C diamines (b) and opt. primary or secondary 1-12 monoamines (c) as additive to prevent the formation, growth and/or agglomeration of gas hydrate crystals in a mixture of water and crude oil/natural gas components during conveyance or transport of crude oil and/or natural gas. R1 and R2 = H, 1-12C alk(en)yl, 6-12C aryl, which can be interrupted by O, COO or OCO; and R1 may be COOH.
