METHOD OF MANIPULATING MOLECULES

A method of manipulating molecules at the molecular level, comprises the steps placing molecules to be manipulated in a strong non-resonant laser beam for a ti me sufficient non-linear interaction between the molecules and the laser beam to ma nipulate the molecules in a controllable manner. The laser intensity can reach 2 x 10 12 W/cm2 or more which can create forces in excess of 10-12 Dynes, giving an acceleration in excess of 5 x 10 10m/sec2.
