The adjustment of the seat component with any original position is carried out in a working direction, which depends on the contact pressure of the present user at the beginning of the adjustment, determined by the pressure sensor. The method can be carried out using several seat components (2,3) with individual pressure sensors (4-7) and drives. The end of the adjustment is optionally determinable.
