A barium titanate-base semiconducting ceramic composition which is improved in the resistance to rush current to thereby enable the downsizing of a thermistor. The composition is characterized in that the main component is BaTiO3 wherein part of the barium is replaced by 1 to 25 mole % of Ca, 1 to 30 mole % of Sr and 1 to 50 mole % of Pb, that a dopant is contained in an amount of 0.2 to 1.0 mole % per 100 mole % of the main component, and that 0.01 to 0.10 mole % (in terms of Mn) of manganese, 0.5 to 5 mole % (in terms of SiO2) of silica and 0.0028 to 0.093 mole % (in terms of Mg) of magnesium are contained as additives per 100 mole % ofthe main component.
