<p>A method of manufacturing a thermionic element, comprising preparing a grooved block (11) of an n-type thermoelectric semiconductor and a grooved block (21) of a p-type thermoelectric semiconductor, on each of which a plurality of grooves (16, 26) are formed at the same pitch with portions in a thicknesswise direction ungrooved, fitting the grooved block (11, 21) of the n-type thermoelectric semiconductor and of the p-type thermoelectric semiconductor to each other, and filling an adhesive insulating material in gaps between the fitted portions to form an integral block (3). The method further comprises removing portions except fitted portions in the integral block (3), where the n-type and p-type thermoelectric semiconductors are fitted to each other, to expose n-type and p-type thermoelectric semiconductors stock pieces, and forming electrodes for connecting the respective thermoelectric semiconductors stock pieces alternately in series. Further, it is desirable to form a plurality of grooves in a direction intersecting the direction of the grooves (16, 26), with portions of the stock pieces left, and perform the above steps of exposing the thermoelectric semiconductors stock pieces and forming the electrodes after filling an insulating material in the formed grooves and having the same solidifying.</p> |
