The method includes the steps of using feeder reels (FR3) for transporting a sheet of paper until it collides with a pair of resistance reels (RR) in a stopped condition. It arranges the side of the leading end of the sheet in a direction orthogonal to the transport direction. It then drives both the feeder reels as well as the resistance reels (RR) to transport the sheet to a next process. The rotation speed of the feeder reels is controlled so that the sheet is transported with a predetermined speed to the resistance reels. The transport speed of the sheet is reduced from a predetermined position, before the sheet collides with the resistance reels, until it collides with the resistance reels.
