Hydrodynamic brake

The hydrodynamic brake has an adjuster which consists of a long traction cable (4). The cable encloses the flow barrier (1) around its outer periphery. One end (7) of the cable is fixed to the housing (2) of the brake. The adjuster further consists of a hydrodynamic piston (5) to which the other end (8) of the cable is fixed. The cable may be a wire rope which is laid in a groove in the flow barrier. The hydraulic piston is connected to a spring (6) which loads the piston in one direction.
