IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO CABLE PILLAR SYSTEMS

A cable pillar system for use in reticulation of underground electrical cables is disclosed. The system has a base part (10) which is largely buried underground through which the cables are pulled, a terminal part (20) on which connections between the cables and current control elements are arranged, and a cover (30) which fits over the terminal part and protects the system above ground. The terminal part (20) can be moved or detached on the base part (10) for generally safe and convenient installation of a new system or new connections on an existing system. A method of installing equipment of this kind is also provided.
