Car body component for attachment of water guard on windscreen

The car body component is configured so as to enable mounting of a water guard (7) under the windscreen (2), leaving a small gap between the underside of the windscreen. The gap is covered by a chrome strip (10) which is fixed to the car body and sealably attached to the windscreen and the water guard. The strip is formed so as to provide a uniform attachment with the water guard and to connect the water guard with the car body front wall cover (3). The strip may be provided with a U=shaped clamping section (18) which grips over the parallel webs (13,17) of the front wall cover and the water guard.
