<p>A device (1), and a container (27) having such a device (1), is provided for permitting filling the container (27) with a predetermined weight of a fluid. The device (1) and container (27) include a main channel (31) to introduce the fluid into the container (27) at a fill pressure; a detector mechanism (6) to detect a 'filled' condition based on fluid weight; and a fluid-weight control mechanism (5) to automatically prevent introducing fluid into the container (27) in excess of the 'filled' condition. A compression spring (191) offsets part of the weight of a displacer (181) such that the displacer (181) becomes buoyant as the container (27) becomes 'filled'. The displacer (181) has a seat mechanism (135) that sealingly engages an orifice mechanism (123) creating a differential pressure, substantially less than the fill pressure, across a control device (7) causing closure of the main channel (31).</p> |
