<p>A device for protecting buildings and underground facilities against flooding, which is self-actuating and does not require any external source of power. The device comprises a float assembly formed from plates 1 and 2 which rises within a float chamber 3 under flood conditions. The float assembly is pivoted at one end 9 and bears against a horizontal jamb above the pivot and inclined jambs at the sides 7 to form a seal against water ingress. Additional features may be incorporated to facilitate testing of the flood barrier in conditions of no flooding.</p> |
