<p>Adhesive is applied by an arrangement of a chamber (23) containing the adhesive (24), a roller (1) partly immersed in the adhesive and an application roller (2) applying adhesive to a workpiece passing by the roller. In the absence of a workpiece, the axle of the application roller is swivelled away from the gripping device by an eccentric axle (36) which does not coincide with the axis of rotation of the roller. The axles of the application roller of that of the adhesive roller are movable so that the distance between the two rollers remains the same. Preferably the adhesive roller and a sealing roller (25) cover the front of the adhesive chamber, the former defining a gap with a vertical wall of the chamber for return of non-applied adhesive and the latter being sealed against the other vertical wall of the chamber and forming a gap with the adhesive roller for adhesive to pass through.</p> |
