FIELD: electrical engineering; insulating materials including electrical ceramics. SUBSTANCE: material includes finely milled fraction of fly ash and clay (less than 8 mcm). Raw mixture has in its composition, mass percent: finely milled ash - 100-50; finely milled clay - maximum 50. Finished material has following characteristics: density 2.0-2.2 g/cu. cm; water absorption - 0-0.5%; flexural strength - 45-55 MPa; electric strength - 90-120 kV/cm; surface resistivity - 10 Ohms; volume resistivity - 10 Ohms; tgdelta - O.O5-0.01; epsi - 2-4. EFFECT: enlarged range of secondary resources for producing insulating; reduced cost of material.
