A self-contained portable carbon dioxide extinguisher filling system has a pump which can transfer liquid carbon dioxide from a reservoir to a fire extinguisher by means of high pressure tubing and various controls. The system is housed in a box with a hinged lid. The pump (11) is driven by a DC motor (13) which in turn is powered by a rechargable battery (14). The reservoir is connected to the pump inlet and the extinguisher to an outlet on the box. The box also contains the necessary pipework, controls and wiring. An embodiment where the filling system is housed in a pair of boxes is also disclosed. <IMAGE> |
