<p>A jewellery clasp comprising a spring clip portion (15) and a receptor body (26) is formed with an upstanding shoulder around a release button (20) of the spring clip portion (15). The shoulder protects the release button (20) from accidental depression; creates a box-like configuration when the clasp is closed, and reduces very substantially the likelihood of assembly of the clasp with the spring clip portion (15) into the receptor body (26).
