The cable (1) to pull optic fibre cables for support by high tension electricity cable systems, has an inner (3b) and outer (3c) layer of high tensile yarns which are both highly compressed. A plastics mantle is firmly bonded to the outer layer of high tensile yarns (3c). Also claimed is a mfg. process where the spun high tensile yarns (3b) for the first layer are impregnated with bitumen (11). An inserted layer of swelling yarns, with pref. six swelling yarns, is inserted into or on the first layer. The high tensile yarns (3c), from another spinner, are produced for the second layer. An outer plastics mantle is applied by pressure spraying.
