PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an org. thin-film electroluminescent element having a long life by sandwiching a mono- or multilayered org. thin film contg. an amine compd. between an anode and a cathode. SOLUTION: In an org. electroluminescent element comprising a mono- or multilayered org. thin film having a thickness of 1-500nm and sandwiched between an anode and a cathode, the thin film contains 10-100wt.% compd. represented by the formula (wherein Ar<1> to Ar<6> are each a phenyl group optionally susbtd. by a 1-4C alkyl, a 1-4C alkoxy, amino, a 1-4C alkylamino, a 1-4C dialkylamino, a 1-4C alkylthio, a halogen, or a 1-4C haloalkyl). Since the compd. has a high amorphousness, a thin film contg. the compd. hardly causes cohesion and exhibits a good adhesion to a substrate, giving an org. thin-film electroluminescent element improved in durability.
