PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic ceramic compsn. having proper saturation magnetization, a small half-width of ferrimagnetic resonance and a low temp. coefft. of saturation magnetization by using yttrium oxide, iron oxide, tin oxide, aluminum oxide and a calcium feeding source as essential components. SOLUTION: Yttrium oxide is mixed with iron oxide, the oxide, aluminum oxide and calcium carbonate or calcium oxide so as to give a compsn. represented by the formula Y3-x Cax/2 Snx/2 Fe5-y Aly O12 (where 0.1<=x<=1 and 0.1<=y<=1.5). The resultant mixture is dried and calcined at 1,100-1,200 deg.C for 1-3hr to form calcined powder. The powder is mixed with a binder, compacted in a prescribed shape and sintered at 1,300-1,500 deg.C in air to obtain the objective magnetic ceramic for a microwave element having saturation magnetization of 100-18,00 at ordinary temp., <=0.2%/ deg.C temp. coefft. of saturation magnetization and <=60Oe half-width of ferrimagnetic resonance. |
