WATER REPELLENT FOR HYDRAULIC MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water repellent for a hydraulic material having excellent water repellent.waterproof effect by using in combination an alkaline earth metallic salt of fatty acid and an alkali metallic salt of fatty acid or amine salt in a specified ratio. SOLUTION: In this water repellent, (A) an alkaline earth metal salt of fatty acid and (B) an alkali metal salt of fatty acid or the amine salt are incorporated, and a weight ratio of contents of (A) component to (B) component is (A):(B)=(99:1)-(1:99), preferably (A):(B)=(5:5)-(9:1). 8-22C single or mixed fatty acid are preferable as the fatty acid constituting (A) and (B) components, and the most preferable fatty acid is the single or mixed fatty acid containing oleic acid. A calcium salt is preferable as the (A) component and a sodium salt is preferable as the (B) component. This water repellent is appropriate when a material containing a vegetable fibrous material such as wood chip, water- paper, pulp and sawdust as an aggregate is used as the hydraulic material.
