PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable continuous multicolor printing of a large number of printing sheet at a high speed. SOLUTION: A drum 10 rotatable at a constant peripheral speed, a medium holding means 20 for holding a printing medium M to the outer peripheral surface 11 of the drum 10 and respective color nozzle units 200 arranged so as to be positionally shifted in the rotary direction of the drum 10 and having a large number of ink jet nozzles 207 are provided and respective color inks are sprayed on the printing medium M during the rotary movement along with the drum 10 from the selected color ink jet nozzles 207 to enable color printing and, further, a negative pressure holding means 21 for holding the medium holding means 20 by utilizing the negative pressure in the drum through the suction holes 12 mode through the drum and a grasping pawl holding means 41 for pressing and holding the peripheral part of the printing medium M held under negative pressure to the outer peripheral surface 11 of the drum 10 by using a grasping pawl are provided. |
