PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable continuous multicolor printing of a large number of printing sheets at a high speed. SOLUTION: A drum 10 rotatable around its axial line 10S at a constant peripheral speed, a medium holding means 20 capable of holding a printing medium M to the outer peripheral surface of the drum 10 and respective color nozzle units 200 arranged so as to be positionally shifted in the rotary direction of the drum 10 are provided and, further, a medium supply means 90 for spraying respective color inks on the printing medium M during the rotary movement along with the drum 10 from the ink jet nozzles 207 of the color nozzle units 200 to enable color printing and capable of supplying the printing medium M to the drum 10, a position detection means 100 detecting the rotary position of the drum 10 and a supply timing adjusting and controlling means 250 supplying the printing medium to the drum through the medium supply means 90 when the detected position becomes a preset position are provided and printing is applied to the printing medium M supplied to the drum 10 to be held thereto while rotated. |
