PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ethylene-based copolymer and a film thereof, excellent in transparency, heat sealability, mechanical properties and the like. SOLUTION: The ethylene-based copolymer and the film thereof, produced from ethylene and a >=3C olefin, have (1) a density of 890 to 940kg/m<3> , (2) an intrinsic viscosity of 0.5 to 5.0dl/g, measured at 135 deg.C in decalin, (3) a component which is not crystallized at 0 deg.C, and at least two peaks at above 0 deg.C in a chromatogram, (4) components eluted out at 0 deg.C at 5wt.% or less, (5) components eluted out at 95 deg.C or above at 0.1 to 10wt.%, (6) a standard deviation of average elution temperature of 20 deg.C or lower, determined for the average elution temperatures other than 0 deg.C, where the components of (4) and (5) and average elution temperature of (6) are determined by the chromatography in which sample temperature is risen, and (7) ultrahighmolecular-weight components having a peak area of less than 5%, where these components appear at a molecular weight of 10<6> or higher in the 90 deg. lightscattering chromatograms obtained by GPC-MALLS analysis. |
