PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing the subject resin excellent in impact resistance and the appearance of the molded products therefrom by graft polymerization of a vinyl monomer mixture with a specific base rubber produced from an acrylic ester-based monomer and allyl-free multifunctional vinyl monomer. SOLUTION: This method reacts (B) 40 to 200 pts.wt. of a vinyl monomer mixture by emulsion graft polymerization with (A3 ) 100 pts.wt. of cross-linked acrylic rubber copolymer particles which constitute (A) the base rubber containing at least 70wt.% of gel, produced by emulsion polymerization of (A1 ) a vinyl monomer-based mixture with an acrylic ester as the major ingredient and (A2 ) an allyl-free multifunctional vinyl monomer-based mixture, where a mixture comprising A1 and 0.01 to 7mol% of A2 based on A1 is supplied to the reaction system at a rate of 1×10<20> to 1×10<-17> mol/min per mol of A3 , and rate of radical formation in the presence of a water-soluble initiator is adjusted to 3×10<-25> to 3×10<-22> mol/min per mol of A3 .
