PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mixture powder which can be formed into a high density and high strength compacted body by hot forming method, by adding a lubricant comprising a fatty acid ester, hydrocarbon wax and lithium stearate by a specified proportion to the source material for powder metallurgy. SOLUTION: A lubricant comprising a fatty acid ester such as oleyl alcohol, a hydrocarbon wax such as natural paraffin wax, and lithium stearate are added and mixed in 1:(1 to 5):(1 to 10) ratio, by 0.01 to 0.3wt.%, 0.01 to 0.3wt.% and 0.01 to 0.6wt.%, respectively, to a metal powder as the source material for powder metallurgy. Further, a styrene butadiene rubber or ethylene glycol distearate is added as a binder by 0.02 to 0.5wt.% of the powder source material for powder metallurgy. Thus, a compacted formed body for powder metallurgy having an excellent density and strength can be obtd. by warm press forming at about 100 deg.C. |
