PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display surface material having glare shielding effects, capable of simply wiping off dirt on the surface, by providing a substrate with a coating material layer having dispersed spherical fine particles of a black synthetic resin having a specific average particle diameter. SOLUTION: A coating material is prepared by dispersing about 1 pt.wt. of block fine particles 4 composed of a synthetic resin such as benzoguanamine/ formaldehyde condensate having an average particle diameter of 0.1 to 2 twice as much as the thickness of the coating material layer 3 into 100 pts.wt. of a resin solution of an ultraviolet-curing acrylic resin. Then, the coating material is applied to the surface of a substrate 2 such as a polarized film, irradiated with ultraviolet rays and cured to form a coating material layer 3 having about 1-20μm film thickness and comprising the fine particles 4 partially projected from the surface of the coating material layer. A display surface material 1 which is stuck to a liquid crystal display and used is obtained.
