<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-driven power steering device for which it is possible to easily vary the backlash between the gears which transmit steering aiding force and reduce the number of component items. SOLUTION: The rotation force of an electric actuator 50 which drives a driving gear 51 meshing with a driven gear 52 which is provided on a steering shaft 2 which is rotated by steering is transmitted to the steering shaft 2 through both gears 51 and 52. The change of the axial position of the steering shaft 2 varies the backlash between both gears 51 and 52. A cylindrical member 62 which is interposed between a housing 9 which supports the steering shaft 2 through a bearing 12 which is able to move in the axial direction together with the steering shaft 2 and the steering shaft 2 is screwed into the housing 9 along the axial direction of steering shaft 2 in such a way as the amount of screwing-in can be varied. The bearing 12 is pushed to a receiving part 62c which is provided on the cylindrical member 62 in such a way as it is possible to prevent the movement of the bearing 12 in one direction of the axial direction.</p> |
