PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve rolling resistance by furnishing a side reinforcing layer a meridional cross section of which is crescent along the whole region of both side parts and making thickness of left and right side parts of this side reinforcing layer different from each other. SOLUTION: Side reinforcing layers 21, 22 are formed on inner surfaces of both of left and right sides B1 , B2 of a carcass ply 15 of a radial tire. The side reinforcing layers 21, 22 are formed so that meridional cross-sections become crescent along the overall region of each of inner surfaces of both of the left and right side parts B1 , B2 and formed so that thickness T(t1 , t2 ) of the crescent cross sections on the left and right reinforcing materials 21, 22 are different from each other. The thickness t1 of the cross-section of the side reinforcing layer 21 on the left side is formed thicker than the thickness t2 of the cross-section of the side reinforcing layer 22 on the right side. Consequence, it is possible to support a vehicle load by rigidity of both of the left and right side parts B1 , B2 even in a state where internal pressure of a radial tire is lowered by puncture, etc., while the vehicle travels. |
