<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden for an operator by increasing the number of a rolling pass and decreasing a rolling reduction every each pass in the case incapable of obtaining such a schedule as becoming within a limit value in all rolling passes. SOLUTION: The number of the pass is determined with a pass schedule arithmetic part 41, and the schedule of a plate thickness and a plate width is determined. At this time, the carrying speed of a material is also determined. The deforming resistance, the rolling load, the rolling torque and the motor power every each pass are predicted and calculated. Next, each limit about the predicted and calculated rolling load, rolling torque and motor power is checked with a limit judging part 42. In the case of an over-limit, the schedule of the plate thickness is changed, and the prediction and calculation are repeated until items reaching the limit in every pass become zero.
