PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject inhibitor that contains a glucosyltransferase- inhibitory substance extracted from jujube leaves as an active ingredient, can prevent the appearance of tooth decay with high safety and is useful as a oral cavity preparation and beverage or food product preventing tooth decay. SOLUTION: Leaves of jujube tree in Rhamnus japonica are extracted with a lower aliphatic alcohol, polyhydric alcohol, lower aliphatic ketone, water or its mixture to obtain a glucosyltransferase inhibitor and this substance is used as an active ingredient. In a preferred embodiment, this glucosyltransferase inhibitor is formulated to chewing gum in an amount of 0.1-1.0wt.%.
