PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve comfortableness by reducing impact caused by abrupt pressure fluctuations of an oil chamber E of an accumulator at the time of adjusting the car height, and reducing tap noise of an opening/closing valve due to the height adjusting operation. SOLUTION: The device consists of a pump cylinder 114 in which a pump mechanism is arranged in a piston rod, and a hollow pump rod 121 standing up from the cylinder bottom. When the pump mechanism is operated to expand and contract, the pressurized oil in a reservoir, is supplied to an oil chamber on the shock absorber side and to an oil chamber on the accumulator side, and a control orifice connects the oil chamber on the accumulator side to the reservoir, at a specified position, to set the shock absorber to a specified height. In this case, a suction valve IV is provided on the upper end part of the pump rod, and the pump mechanism is adapted to operate only at the area where a suction port 121C drilled on the downstream side of the suction valve IV is not closed to the upper end part of the pump cylinder 114.
