PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for forming a protuberant image which can be operated with safety and is suited as a braille printer, as well as a method for forming a protuberant image. SOLUTION: The device and method for forming a protuberant image comprise a mechanism (A) for transferring a heat expanding layer which transfers the heat expanding layer in an image form to a sheet 4 to which an image is transferred by heating with a heating means from the back face of a heat transfer sheet 7 which consists of the heat expanding layer comprising a heat foaming agent and a resin binder with a number average molecular weight of 1,000-30,000 formed on one of the faces of a base sheet and is arranged opposite to the sheet 4 to which an image is transferred from the face of the heat expanding layer, and a foaming mechanism (B) which enables the foaming of the heat expanding layer, in an image form, which is transferred to the sheet 4 by a heat roll 1. |
