PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an expression plasmid containing a DNA encoding a complex compound containing a modified Pseudomonas exotoxin having an activity of an ADP ribosylation and a capability of a translocation mediated by a cell membrane. SOLUTION: This recombinant Pseudomonas exotoxin is obtained by using an expression plasmid containing a DNA encoding a complex compound containing a modified Pseudomonas exotoxin having an activity of an ADP ribosylation and a capability of a translocation mediated by a cell membrane. The modified exotoxin has a low toxicity to human or an animal in vitro and also has a modification at a receptor binding domain Ia of a natural toxin sufficient to become a modified toxin having a low toxicity to liver on administration in vivo, compared with those of an unmodified Pseudomonas exotoxin.
