PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce variations in the quantity of heat transferred to rice specially in the precooking process by a hot water supply means, a rice cooking pot and a heating means for heating the rice cooking pot are arranged and the hot water supply means supplies hot water adjusted to a specified temperature to the rice cooking pot in the precooking process. SOLUTION: The rice cooker is constituted of a heater 4, a hot water supply means 5, a rice cooking pot 6, a heating means 7 to heat the rice cooking pot 6 and a control means 8 connected to the heating means 7. The electric energization of the heating means 7 is controlled by the control means 8 to heat the rice cooking pot 6. After the washing of rice, hot water is put into the set ricecooking pot 6 by the hot water supply means 5 following the starting of the rice cooking process. At this point, as hot water supplied from the hot water supply means 5 is kept at about 60 deg.C at which the rice can quickly absorb water sufficiently, rice inside the rice cooking pot 6 is exposed to hot water at about 60C deg.C at one time. This enables the rice to quickly absorb water without variations thereby minimizing variations in the quantity of heat transferred to the rice. |
