PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an ink cartridge efficiently by welding a sealing film to an ink supply port of a vessel main body furnished with a foam chamber to house an ink absorbing porous body, fixing a filter material on an inflow side communicating with the ink supply port, and sticking a lid member having thin slits connected to an atmospheric communication port. SOLUTION: The vessel main body 1 is divided into foam chambers 6 for housing an ink absorbing porous body 5 consisting of resilient material and an ink chamber 7 by partition boards 2, 3, 4. An ink supply port connected to an ink supply needle of the recording head is provided in the lower end of each foam chamber 6, and an opening of the vessel main body 1 is sealed by a lid body having slits communicating to an atmospheric communication port and ink pouring openings, then these are covered with an air isolation film. A communication port extending to the ink supply port is formed in the bottom of the foam chambers 6, and a packing member to be fitted with the ink supply needle of the recording head is inserted in the communication port, or an air isolation film capable of being ruptured by insertion of the ink supply needle is adhered at the tip of the ink supply port. |
