PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of wear by calculating the diameter many times with operational equations such as angular velocity of rotation, and by obtaining the point in time when the diameter decreases by using approximate curves of the relation with the value of diameter calculated by either a driving distance, excavation time or cumulative number of revolutions. SOLUTION: During excavation by a tunnel excavator, the angular velocity of rotation of a disc cutter 1 is detected by a rotation detector 7, and the detected signal is inputted to an arithmetic processing equipment 9. Moreover, an installation radius, angular velocity of rotation of cutter head and diameter of disc cutter 1 is calculated when the disc cutter 1 is installed to a cutter head with the arithmetic processing equipment. Then, a curve having a monotonous decrease and showing the relation between the driving distance and the diameter of disc cutter 1 is determined. From this approximation curve, the present diameter and the diameter at an arbitrary excavation distance of the disc cutter 1 is calculated. Here, when calculating by this approximate curve, it is desired to determine the diameter of the disc cutter 1 at the point in time where the arithmetic data are not present by extraporating its approximate curve. By doing this, a change in the diameter of disc cutter 1 in the future can be predicted. |
