摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To concentrate or separate divinylbiphenyl from a divinylbiphenyl- containing oil in high efficiency by an adsorption method using a specific zeolite as an adsorbent. SOLUTION: A divinylbiphenyl-containing oil such as a dehydrogenation reaction product of diethylbiphenyl is subjected to an adsorption separation operation by a batchwise chromatographic separation or continuous pseudomoving bed reverse flow method using a faujasite-type zeolite modified with a metal (e.g. sodium, potassium or barium) as an adsorbent. The desorbent is preferably one or more kinds of aromatic hydrocarbons selected from benzene, toluene, p-xylene, ethylbenzene, m-diethylbenzene and pdiethylbenzene. The amount of the metal modifying the zeolite is preferably 50-150% in terms of the value of (the number of the modifying metal iatoms)×(the valence of the metal) based on the number of the aluminum atoms in an Htype faujasite zeolite. The adsorption temperature is preferably room temperature to 150 deg.C and the adsorption pressure is atmospheric pressure to 100kg.G/cm<2> , preferably atmospheric pressure to 50Kg.G/cm<2> .
