摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the occurrence of chipping by containing V, Cr, Ta or Nb of a specific quantity of a bonding phase mainly composed of Co in the shape of carbide, a nitride or a carbide-nitride, using cemented carbide whose residual part is WC as a tool base material, and covering its edge surface with a specific coating film or a composite coating film. SOLUTION: As a tool base material of a high hardness material cutting cemented carbide end mill, one or more kinds selected from a group composed of V: 0.1 to 0.9wt.%, Cr: 0.1 to 1.5wt.%. Ta: 0.1 to 1.8wt.% and Nb: 0.1 to 1.8wt.% are contained in the shape of carbide, a nitride, a carbide-nitride, compound carbide or a compound carbide-nitride besides a bonding phase mainly composed of Co is contained by 6 to 9wt.%, and cemented carbide whose residual part is composed of WC and an unavoidable impurity and coersive force satisfies the relationship of an expression [coersive force (Oe)]>390-10×[o content (wt.%)] is used. At least an edge surface of this tool base material is covered with a coating film or a composite coating film of a (4a) group element or the like of a periodic table.
