The tray sorter type (1) device comprises a number of superimposed and reciprocally parallel, driverless chain transporters (2), so-called plates, to which timber pieces can be guided by means of transport devices from an in-feed transporter (3) to selective plates. From these plates, the timber pieces can be moved by means of transport devices to a subsequent feed-out transporter (4). The plates are of different lengths, and in a height direction a central plate (10) is longer than the plates above it and below it (11, 12). The feed-out ends of these latter plates form an arrow shape. Each of the plates (11) located above the central plate (10) at the feed-out end (13) is provided with a pivotable heel formation. |
