PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new antibody consisting of a monoclonal antibody against a surface antigen of hepatitis type G virus(HGV), especially an envelope protein E2 of the HGV and useful as a diagnostic detecting agent of the HGV, a therapeutic agent for the hepatitis type G, etc. SOLUTION: This antibody against hepatitis type G virus is a new monoclonal antibody against a surface antigen of the hepatitis type G virus, especially to against an envelope protein E2 of the HGV and a new antibody induced against a polypeptide encoded by a nucleotide sequence between positions 127 to 1290 expressed by the formula, is also a nucleotide sequence coincidental with the sequence of the formula in a range of gene code degeneracy and/or a nucleotide sequence capable of hybridizing with these sequences under a stringent condition, and is useful as a diagnostic detecting agent and a therapeutic agent to the HGV. The antibody is obtained by administering a plasmid DNA containing HGV-E2 gene to mice, collecting their spleen cells after a final immunization, fusing the cells with myeloma cells, cloning the hybridized cells and then culturing. |
