A method of reshaping containers, in particular drawn and wall ironed metal cans, in which at least the neck region of the can is reshaped. This enables many novel shapes to be formed from a cylindrical can, for example that of a barrel, or flutes of different orientations around both the neck and the upper side wall. These may be desirable for product differentiation or to project a brand image. The method also enables the flange to be reshaped by applying an axial load through the flange. |
