Novel pyridazone derivatives of the Formula I having at least one centre of asymmetry, that being in the carbon atom adjacent the amido nitrogen, in which A is halogen, aryl, substituted aryl, alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryloxy, alkoxy, mercapto, CF 3 or other haloalkyl, NH 2 alkylamino, acylamino, arylamino, substituted arylamino, aralkylthioalkyl, or 5-6 membered heterocyclic ring which may be monocyclic or fused to a benzene ring; R 1 is H, C 1-3 alkyl, C 2-3 alkenyl, C 1-3 alkoxy, aralkyl or aryloxy; R 3 is H, C 1-3 alkyl or C 2-3 alkenyl; R 4 is C 1-5 alkyl or C 2-5 alkenyl; Z is acyl, aryl or substituted aryl, and n is 0 to 4, are prepared by either reacting haloalkanamides of the formula with alkali metal salts of the appropriate 6-A-3- pyridazones or by reacting amines of the formula with the anhydrides, acyl halides or esters of the appropriate α-(3-pyrdazon-2-yl) aliphatic acids. Pharmaceutical compositions, having antiinflammatory activity and suitable for oral or parenteral administration, contain the above novel compounds and pharmaceutically acceptable diluents, solvents or carriers.</p> |
