The anti-submarining system for a vehicle seat (1) comprises a retaining inflatable bag (8) which is normally retracted and only operative in case of collision. It can be placed in the seat front or rear part of the seat. The bag is located so as to be supported during inflation on the vehicle floor (P). The bag is equipped with an inflation system and an inflation control. The inflation control comprises a shock sensor which emits a signal in the event of collision, and a computer receiving this signal which emits an inflation instruction. The anti-submarining system prevents the seated person from sliding forward under the ventral part of the seat belt in the event of a collision. |
