<p>Water level detector used in a washing machine, especially suited for use in a washing machine having a rotatable water drum. The detector includes a chamber (14) which is open to the atmosphere and into which water discharged from the water tank is received. A pressure sensor (15) determines the volume of water in the chamber (14) from the pressure created by the head of water in the chamber (14), and as this is dependent on the volume of free water in the water tank, enables a determination to be made of the volume of water in the tank.</p> |
