PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the image compression/storage device with enhanced performance by storing a large quantity of image data in an excellent state even when the image data are stored while being compressed. SOLUTION: A compression rate control means 105 controls a compression rate of a compression means 106 by controlling the compression means 106 to compress a plurality of image frames received by a image reception means 104 while de-framing a prescribed image frame among other a plurality of image frames except an in-frame coding image frame among a plurality of the image frames based on a residual capacity of a storage means 108. Thus, the compression image data obtained by compressing the frames based on a compression rate resulting from the residual capacity of the storage means 108 are stored in the storage means 108. Furthermore, each means is inactivated for image frames not compressed. |
